Teachers need NWP

Teachers who write—and feel comfortable and competent as writers—make better teachers of writing. Participation in NWP develops, supports, and promotes that comfort and competence and results in knowledge and expertise shared with colleagues and students. NWP is definitely a program that merits continued financial support!

We are educators and citizens writing with the hope that our legislators and government will come to understand the importance of the National Writing Project. We believe in our students and in the power of writing. We believe that teachers can learn, grow, support each other, and 'be the change' that we hope to see in our schools, communities, colleges and universities. We span the country and reach students from kindergarten through university and across the curriculum. The National Writing Project is the platform for our work. Restore its funding—help us make the difference we know we can make.
