The National Writing Project has nourished and sustained many a good teacher, giving them a professional home and ways to learn in professional community that have lasting impact on the lives of kids in their classrooms. The support and opportunities I've received through my connection with colleagues in the National Writing Project have kept me going for almost twenty years in education and helped me continually work to be a better teacher. Don't take that away--the loss would be profound.
