NWP funding

I am a fellow of the Pennsylvania Writing and Lit Project in West Chester, PA. (PAWLP) I've been a writing fellow since 2001 and a Literature fellowsince 2003. I couldn't get enough of a good thing. The training I received changed my life as an educator and hopefully the lives of my students and the teachers I teach.

I remain an active with the project as a staff developer and summer writing camp teacher. In addition to my full time teaching job I estimate my work has directly reached over 1500 students and teachers in 10 years. Even with an sluggish economy that's a terrific return on the money spent attending NWP writing and lit institutes.

Fund the NWP. It's working for students and teachers !

We are educators and citizens writing with the hope that our legislators and government will come to understand the importance of the National Writing Project. We believe in our students and in the power of writing. We believe that teachers can learn, grow, support each other, and 'be the change' that we hope to see in our schools, communities, colleges and universities. We span the country and reach students from kindergarten through university and across the curriculum. The National Writing Project is the platform for our work. Restore its funding—help us make the difference we know we can make.
