Fight to keep NWP's funding

Since 1995, I have been a member of the National Writing Project. After over 40 years in the field of education and involved with numerous organizations, there is NO other organization that I know that prepares teachers to become reflective educators who can face the challenges of teaching literacy skills with meaningful experiences that are learned through the NWP programs.

Please restore the funding of the National Writing Project. Thousands of teachers and students will suffer.

We are educators and citizens writing with the hope that our legislators and government will come to understand the importance of the National Writing Project. We believe in our students and in the power of writing. We believe that teachers can learn, grow, support each other, and 'be the change' that we hope to see in our schools, communities, colleges and universities. We span the country and reach students from kindergarten through university and across the curriculum. The National Writing Project is the platform for our work. Restore its funding—help us make the difference we know we can make.
